BODY COMPOSITION ANALYSIS POLICY

This policy governs the terms and conditions for all body composition assessments provided by The Sports Nutritionist, including the Full Body Warrant of Fitness (WoF) and Clinical Body Scan protocols.

By scheduling an appointment, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions outlined below.

Clinical Disclaimer

The Body Composition Analysis utilises Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology. While BIA provides valuable clinical insights, it is a screening tool and does not constitute a medical diagnosis. Results should be interpreted with consideration of individual factors and may not always reflect absolute values. Participants are encouraged to consult a General Practitioner regarding any specific medical concerns.

Eligibility

  • Age and Informed Consent:

    • Athletes Aged 13–14: In accordance with clinical safeguarding standards, a parent or legal guardian must be physically present for the duration of all consultations. Sessions cannot proceed without a guardian in attendance.

    • Athletes Aged 15–17: Parental presence is optional, provided that digital consent has been granted via the official booking platform.

    • Athletes Aged 18+: May consent to and attend the assessment independently.

Important Safety & Risk Disclosure

To ensure a safe and accurate assessment, please disclose any pre-existing conditions or medical devices on your intake form.

  • Blood Testing (WoF sessions): While all strict biohazardous and safety protocols are met, there is a minimal inherent risk associated with any blood draw, such as temporary discomfort, minor bruising, or light-headedness.

  • BIA Contraindications (WoF & Body Scan sessions): The BIA device is generally safe; however, the following individuals must not undergo the BIA portion of the assessment:

    • Pregnancy: BIA is not permitted for pregnant individuals.

    • Electronic Medical Devices: Individuals with pacemakers, internal defibrillators, or other electronic life-support systems.

  • Accuracy Factors: Internal metal implants (such as joint replacements) or limb amputations may affect the precision of BIA results.

Data Collection & Privacy

  • Accuracy: To ensure clinical-grade data, participants must follow the specific preparation guidelines (regarding caffeine, exercise, and hydration) outlined in the intake form.

  • Privacy Standards: All personal and health information is collected and stored in accordance with the New Zealand Health Information Privacy Code 2020. You have the right to access and request corrections to any information held by The Sports Nutritionist.

  • Marketing: Results may be used for professional case studies or marketing purposes. However, all data will be strictly anonymised (removing names and identifiers) to protect participant identity unless specific written consent is provided for a testimonial.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. Cancellations made within this 48-hour window, or failure to attend the scheduled session, will incur the full fee. This is to cover clinical preparation, equipment calibration, and travel overheads.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Body Composition Analysis Policy from time to time to reflect clinical or legislative changes. Any updates will be posted directly to this page.
